Taiwan - Day 2 (Part 2) - Trip to Jiufen, Jinguashi, Golden waterfall, Yinyanghai, Nanya rock, Bitou park, Shilin market

Keykey's tour in the NE part of Taiwan continues!

Guess where did keykey go??

Jiufen! A town built on the hilly terrain. Made famous by the movie - City of Sadness.

 Luckily, Meeky dropped us at the top of the place. Else we would have spent most of the time climbing stairs. though eventually we did! All due to keykey's lousy sense of direction!

Off we go!

The place is full of alleys. Keykey said that he wanted to bring Big Key and Lady Key to some of the more famous locations to eat eat. Came here on an empty stomach for lunch.

Big Key's fav! Big juicy sausages. Not sure if really wild boar meat!

The taro balls weren't that amazing. More like flour balls in sweet soup. But the view was good!

Keykey managed to grab a seat near the window to enjoy the views!

Next stop! Keykey was attracted to this place as he thought it was a cinema!

But nope, more food!

Went to the top most level to enjoy the scenery with lunch!

Think this is the city of sadness restaurant. Just beside Keykey's cinema. But too full to go.

Keykey led Big Key and Lady Key down the stairs to find ice-crem but to no avail. Now, must carry him back up!

Next, we went to Jinguashi! An old gold mine museum.

Started with a tour of the jap residence. Nothing much to see.

Next, keykey went to the golden waterfall in search of golden peanuts.

Saw a friend near the Yingyanghai.

The Golden waterfall, yingyanghai and nanya rock are actually close to each other

Reached Nanya rock and went down to the shore area.

The nanya rock itself. This place is mainly to see the rock formations. Can finished in 5-15mins

As it was late, Keykey didn't manage to go to Bitou Park. Keykey went straight to Shilin market as the Keelung market was closed. Big Key and Lady key slept like pigs along the way.

So hungry when everyone reached the market!

This is nice too. "The frogs laying eggs" aka 青蛙下蛋 - Introduced by Big Key. It's a special drink.

Another recommendation by Big Key

It is the oyster pancake. The pancake is very nice but the chilli sauce is not as nice. It is sweet and not spicy

Another dish - big sausage wrapped around small sausage (aka 大腸包小腸)

Looks nice but it is not really our cup of tea. The outer sausage is actually rice based.

Our final 2 buys while heading back. This is a lemonade which is quite nice.

And not forgetting sausages. It was mixed with garlic slices.
