USA - Our Permanent 4 month Temporary Accomodation!

After the weekend, Keykey, Big Key and his friend finally moved in to their permanent accomodation! Ok.. The permanently temporary 4 months housing. It was hard getting a place... There were several options. Easiest was to get a sch accomodation. Others which was explored included renting a place (normally, people use craigslist in USA. It's a classified. Got fakes though). However, we took the simple option and opt for sch housing. The place we moved into is the Papillon Apartments. It is offcampus and is around 5km away from sch. Bought by the school, it is managed by some other external company. It is kinda like condo apt in singapore, with their own swimming pool, gym and such. The good thing about the apt is that it is furnished! Everything is available, great for exchange students.

Keykey was very excited in the new place! Plenty of rooms to roam around! Big key and BKF got a 4 person apt (2 bed rooms, 2 toilets, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 1 store room, 1 walk in closet). There will be 2 more person joining them later on. A german and a UK guy. For now, since they were first to move in, they got the choice to choose their room! Big key and BKF chose the master bedroom! nice.. got their own walk in closet and bathroom with bathtub.

After taking over the place, BK and BKF went for a Walmart trip to get the essential items and took a cab back. Not too ex. Around 7usd for 2 km. Worthwhile for the huge carton of beer they need to get back... haha

First, the living room with the dining table! Got a balcony in front but was sealed off as it was deemed unstable. Check out the newater on the table!

Next, the ned room! Keykey and Big key bed is the further 1! Can spy keykey enjoying himself on the bed! The blanket made by Lady key is also there!

Not forgetting our fridge and the cans of drinks~~ key key thirsty! Budweiser! famous beer in usa. 

Finally, our lunch. Chicken with mashed potato! Not too ex, the chicken is only around 6usd. Bought from Walmart, just like how we buy from carrefour.

The phones and game Big key Bought. Also got a postpaid visa card. The game was on sale and only  cost 10usd. It will have cost around 50sgd back in Singapore.

Our Orbiang phone that we buy. In America, they don't really sell postpaid sim which can be used in every phone. Their sim are tagged to the phone that the company sells. Thus, we got no choice but to buy the phone too. Cheapest phone cost 40usd. We bought from Boost Mobile and the plan we got is the unlimited calls in USA for 50usd/ month. Super ex.. but no choice (Big Key and BKF gfs back in SG is nagging.. and wanted to transmit those nags to USA on a daily basis. haha.. at least for Big Key. lol). At the same time, they also buy international calling cards from the convenience store downstairs to call back to Singapore. Big Key used 5usd calling card per week. All in all, it was quite ex.

Until much much later, 1 month before returning to SG, he found this thing called skype out where you call a local usd no. and you can be routed to Singapore at only 6usd/ month for unlimited calls. This replaced the internationall calling card he needed to buy.

Some of you must be thinking, why don't just use skype all the way? Me, Keykey, went to spy and heard is because Lady Key want to monitor Big Key at all times! So that can reach him everywhere even until a PC. Gossip by Keykey! hahah.

Soon, after all the unpacking, it was night time. With BKF, Big Key decided to cook something. Their first attempt at cooking in this apt.

They made beef burgers! was supposed to be beef patties. but the thing broke up. lol. Some eggs too. At first, they failed in the frying part and decided to broil the beef. lol. or microwave it.. can't quite remember. Anyway.. they bought a box of 36 frozen beef patties! sure was hard to defrost them.

After the nice dinner.... Keykey went back to lie on the bed!! Actually, this pic was the next day morning.. lol... nice sunlight heating him up!
