Indonesia - Batam in May - Day 1

This trip was kindly sponsored by keykey's daddy. Thanks big key!

One fine day in May, keykey, big key and P key jetted off to Batam for a 3day 2 night trip. We had signed up for the  Batam Harris Honeymoon package which was $180sgd per pax which included the ferry tixs and accomodation. (refer to Harris Batam site for whats included in the honeymoon package)

Booking the package through a tour agent, we had initially considered the No-Frills package which would set us back by only $90 each ( a great bargain i would say). However, i really wanted to try the massage there, and as big key couldnt stand my whining, he agreed. ;D

On the day of the trip, we woke up bright and early to catch the 7.40am ferry at harbourfront. The checkin was relatively easy. Collect our tixs and we were all set to go!
My boarding pass~ Collected from a Cheery Batam Fast counter staff

Once on board the ferry, Big Key blatantly ignored the No-eating sign and started on the pack of fried noodles he had sneaked up! tsk tsk!
Cant wait to reach!
More waiting..
The ferry wasnt crowded and we got to pick and choose seats. Remember not to take the outdoor seats if you're not a smoker as we noticed people started lighting up once they were on board :S

BATAM BECKONS~

The 1st stop the ferry made was Sekupang, not sure whats there, though i would guess its nearer the town center, since most people got off there.

Sneak peak of the island from the ferry

Next was our stop at Waterfront City! Imigration was a breeze as there was a Harris guy (easy to recognise from their bright orange tees) who directed us to a counter and then whizzed us off in our own car.

Welcome drinks from the resort
Weird looking plant that big key insisted we take a picture of.
Although it was only eight-ish in the morning, we were able to checkin and got a upgrade to the Cabana room ^^ It kinda reminded me of the ntuc chalet we have at pasir ris, although with more 'character'. I liked the high ceiling and open concept design of the room and was quite satisfied with what we saw. This could be cos i wasnt expecting much though.. *shrugs

Interior of Cabana room

Flowers on bed and bathtub for honeymoon package

I liked the translucent roof which let in lots of light in the day

Backdoor of cabana. Daybed and chairs provided to chill out and enjoy the beach view. However, dont expect too much of the beach. Looks like Changi beach.

Super duper big pool! The place i enjoyed most at Haris
Setting up camp at the pool!
As it was a weekday, we had the whole pool to ourselves. Happiness!

Candlelight Dinner @ H Grill

A delicious dinner, enjoyed all the courses, except for the dessert. Overall, worth the price we paid for it!
